HUMAN HAIR WIGS
You have a flat iron and are ready for smooth, sleek hair, however, running
a hair straightener over your hair isn't necessarily how to get the best
results. Knowing how to straighten your hair is important as it can save you
time as well as keep your hair healthy during heat styling.
Before you start straightening your hair it is important to make sure your
hair is clean, free of residue and protected from heat damage. Using a heat
protectant is very important if you want to maintain healthy hair. Even if
you have the best hairstyling iron, over time, the heat will take a toll on
your hair. Apply a heat protectant styling aid to damp hair before blow
drying and using your flat iron.
When your hair is dry and ready to be straightened it is easiest to start by
sectioning your hair so that you can work from the bottom back layers, to
the sides and up. Use a hair elastic or hair clips to secure the top
sections out of the way. When straightening your hair it is key to do small
sections of hair at a time (1-2" wide) and to go slow. Running over a large
section of hair too quickly will just have you going over and over the same
section of hair and this can cause unnecessary damage to the hair.

If you have very curly or coarse hair I suggest you use a fine tooth comb
along with your flat iron. This is done by following the comb with your hair
iron as you comb the section of hair. Doing this helps to straighten and
smooth curly, coarse hair before the heat from your flat iron is applied.
Once you have straightened all of your hair you may wish to use a finishing
spray or smoothing balm to help fight humidity and frizz. A shine serum is
also a great product to make hair glossy and smooth. When choosing hair
styling products base your selection on your hair type for the best results.
