Party Ideas & Tips - How to Throw a Kickass Party

How to Throw a Kickass Party (And Still Pay Your Rent)

If you're anything like us, you have tons of pins on your Get Crafty Pinterest board…and not a single project to show for it. Well, that ends now. Skip the Solo cups and ripped-up bags of ice at your next party, and try these cute (and quick) upgrades from I Spy DIY blogger Jenni Radosevich.

Garden-Fresh Ice Cubes

Fill an ice-cube tray about halfway with water, then add flower tops or petals. Put the tray in the freezer until cubes are solid, then top off with more water. Freeze the cubes overnight so they don't break.

Light-Bright Coasters

Apply vinyl stickers to a glass tile, then spray-paint the whole tile. Remove stickers after 30 minutes. Use a sponge to apply a thin layer of Mod Podge (prevents chipping).

Your Toolbox
• Spray paint
• Painter's tape
• Vinyl stickers• Mod Podge
• Square glass tiles

Double-Dip Wine Bucket

Use painter's tape to separate the area you're decorating. Spray on two coats of paint. Slowly remove tape after 30 minutes. TIP: Apply multiple thin layers for a smoother look.
Your Toolbox
• Wine bucket
• Painter's tape
• Spray paint

Glitter-Bomb Champagne Flutes

Using painter's tape, mark off the area you don't want to cover (start a few inches below the rim). Pour nail polish into a bowl, then blot it onto a glass with a sponge. Peel the tape once the polish has fully dried. TIP: A shimmery shade looks sleeker than chunky sequins.
Your Toolbox
• Champagne flutes
• Sparkly nail polish ( Jenni used Essie Nail Color in Beyond Cozy)
• Painter's tape
• Small sponge

Earn-Your-Stripes Serving Tray

Stencil a design using a ruler and chalk (or eyeball it!), then cover lines with long strips of metallic tape. Using a box cutter, slice the tape so it lies flush against any edges. TIP: Rectangular trays work better than round ones.
Your Toolbox
• White serving tray
• Metallic masking tape
• Box cutter
