FORMAL DRESSES
This could help you come back from your vacation even healthier than before!
Hotels are experts at what they do. That's why we stay there when we go on vacation.
The excitement we feel the night before our vacation, packing our bags, ready for a swift exit in the morning. Forcing ourselves to sleep, a near impossibility, but we somehow manage.
Bags in the taxi, door locked and off we go! We're on vacation!!
Checking in at the airport, boarding the plane, what movie are we watching today?
Who cares! We're off to the sand, sea and sun!
I just love the 'hot air' feeling when I reach the air-plane exit after landing, I know I've finally arrived.
Its always great to enter your hotel room for the first time, check out the view from your balcony that's going to be yours for the duration of your stay, whilst sipping on your welcome cocktail.
At last, we're here! Big smiles and jump for joy, bounce on the bed like a kid, Yippee!
Lets go and check out the hotel!
Its easy to go crazy with all the delicious foods on offer at hotels, and even easier to say ''I'll go on a diet when I get back''. How many have said that? Haha, if not ALL of us!
Try to resist the temptation of trying a little bit of everything on the buffet table, it'll soon add up to a monster plateful of everything we shouldn't be eating!
Enjoy light, healthy meals with plenty of fruit and salad, but leave room for some healthy snacks!
Did you see the palm trees just outside on the beach?
I'm pretty sure real close there will be some with coconuts ready for the picking!
One of the names of coconut in Sanskrit (Indian) is Kalpa-Vriksha meaning an "eternal tree" or "tree which fulfils all wishes". That name has been given due to the fact that coconut palm is such a versatile tree and almost all parts of the tree can be put to beneficial use.
FORMAL DRESSES
Pretty much everywhere tropical there are vendors selling baby coconuts!
Coconuts are filling, tasty and have only 10 calories per 100g!
The coconut itself has a wealth of uses and is great for many things, not just as food!
Here are some great ideas and uses for this amazing fruit;
Coconut oil
The easiest way to get pure coconut oil is to grate fresh coconut, seal it in a plastic bag and pop it in the freezer for a couple of hours.
Remove the bag and let sit for 15 minutes.
Open up the bag and press handfuls of the grated coconut (takes a little effort) until the oil runs out into a bowl you have at the ready.
That's it!
You now have your own home made 100% (virgin) coconut oil.
Coconut oil has so many uses, I could be here writing for a very long time!
Have a look at these uses just for starters;
Hair conditioner
Pure coconut oil is a creamy solid at room temperature, and turns to a clear liquid when warmed. While in the shower, melt your coconut oil by running the jar under the warm water. Then, after shampooing, apply a generous amount of the oil to wet strands and twist hair into a bun. Let it sit for at least five minutes before rinsing to add moisture and shine to your hair.
Body lotion
As a solid, coconut oil's creamy texture makes a great light moisturizer to use all over. Apply a little amount right after you get out of the shower and it will sink into your warm skin. The light tropical scent that lingers afterwards is lovely.
Add in a few drops of peppermint or lavender oil for a massage mix.
Lip balm
ultra-hydrating coconut oil is great for chapped lips. Scoop some into a spare contact lens holder and throw it in your purse so you can dab it on with your finger throughout the day.
Under-eye cream
The skin under your eyes is thin and delicate, making it prone to fine lines, puffiness, and dark circles. Why spend big bucks on expensive eye cream when you can easily make or even buy coconut oil. Just rub a pinch in between fingers to warm it up before patting it underneath your eyes. You will feel the benefits in a very short time!
Hair revive
Warm a little coconut oil between your fingers, and apply it by Comb or brush, to the bottom couple inches of your hair, for all day frizz protection. If you have thicker, coarser hair, apply the coconut oil from mid-shaft to ends for added frizz control. It also leaves hair extra shiny and soft, with a lovely tropical fragrance!
Make-up remover
Just a teaspoon (or less) can take off a day's worth of makeup with ease, no matter the staying power. Massage a dollop of warmed, liquified coconut oil straight onto skin and watch as makeup melts away, then rinse with warm water. To make your own coconut oil makeup remover wipes, melt 1 teaspoon of coconut oil per round cotton pad in a microwave-safe container. Then, lay the cotton pads in an even layer and let them soak up the oil overnight. Store them in the same container or in a plastic baggie and throw them in your carry-on or gym bag for easy makeup removal on the go.
Body scrub
Mix some sea salt with melted coconut oil, and use it as a vitalizing scrub.
The scrub moisturises while removing dead skin cells, leaving you with skin that's baby soft with a lovely tropical scent.
Shaving cream
Coconut oil makes a great shaving cream too! Just warm the jar under the water and smooth onto legs before shaving. Your razor will glide smoothly, allowing for a super-close shave, and your legs will be moisturised from the oil in the process. Be careful shaving in the shower, the oil will be slippery!
Coconut water contains energy, protein, fat, carbohydrates, sugar, and dietary fiber. The mineral content includes calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium, sodium, zinc, copper, manganese, and selenium. The vitamins found in coconut water include vitamin B6, C, and E, as well as vitamin K, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, and folate.
It is also good for the following;
Rehydration and hypertension
Coconut water from unripe coconuts is useful for re-hydration, as well as controlling hypertension, lowering cholesterol levels, and protecting the heart.
Coconut water is not just water. It is water filled with vitamins and minerals. Some of the minerals found in coconut water, such as potassium and sodium, act as electrolytes and help balance the water levels in our body. Having one or two glasses of coconut water after a long day in the sun can bring back lost minerals, vitamins, and energy in no time at all!
Digestive System: Coconut water is an effective remedy for gastroenteritis, vomiting, mild diarrhea, dysentery, and dyspepsia.
Antimicrobial Properties: Coconut water has been tested for its antimicrobial properties as well. It has been noted that coconut water contains biochemicals called peptides, which can kill both gram positive and gram negative bacteria. Thus, drinking coconut water can be very helpful in fighting infections.
Controls Cholesterol: Coconut water can also act as a deterrent for high cholesterol. Studies on the impact of coconut water in cholesterol-fed rats showed that LDL (low density lipoprotein) or bad cholesterol levels, triglycerides, and overall total cholesterol levels were lowered while HDL (high density lipoprotein), also known as good cholesterol, levels increased due to the consumption of coconut water.
Healthy Heart: Coconut water is good for the heart. As coconut water controls cholesterol, the heart and aorta have lower cholesterol levels, resulting in a healthier heart and a reduced chance of strokes and heart attacks. Coconut water has a stimulating effect on enzymes, which helps in recovering from myocardial damages.
Controls Hypertension: One of the benefits of coconut water is the control of hypertension (high blood pressure). The daily intake of one or two glasses of tender coconut water can be beneficial in controlling hypertension.
Good for the Liver: Tests on tender coconut water for its hepatoprotective properties show that it is good for the liver. Coconut water provides antioxidants, which reduce the activity of many toxins in the liver.
Urinary Disorders: Coconut water has diuretic properties, which is very helpful in cases of urinary disorders. Due to the diuretic effect, water is easily expelled from the body, along with the toxins, helping to keep our bodily systems healthy.
Antioxidant Properties: Coconut water is a good source of antioxidants, which are helpful in scavenging free radicals and various toxins that are naturally produced in the body. These free radicals can start what is called chain reactions in the body by snatching away electrons. Such chain reactions can cause cell death and a variety of diseases.
Antioxidants in our food are very important in counteracting these dangerous free radicals.
Can you believe all these uses from just a simple coconut?
Coconuts can change your way of living, looking, and feeling.
Enjoy your vacation and bring your vacation lifestyle home with you!
